Red Cambria Shiraz is produced in the famous wine growing region of Heathcote, Central Victoria. Heathcote is renowned as one of the best Shiraz growing regions in Australia.
Over the past 30 years Heathcote district pioneers have extolled the virtues of having their vineyards planted in Cambrian Earth. These soils are the result of a very long weathering process, having been formed from Cambrian rocks which are over 500 million years old. The Cambrian Earth exists as two narrow bands that run parallel to the Mount William fault line. It is this Cambrian Earth that, like the Terra Rossa soil of the Coonawarra, confers the area's unique ability to produce extraordinary Shiraz with remarkable ageing ability.
The Red Cambria Heathcote Shiraz is dark ruby red in colour. The wine has intense aromas of spicy black pepper, blackberries and plums. The palate shows hints of liquorice and spice, with a touch of violets and mid palate lift. The wine is very generous with complex savoury characters and well rounded tannins accentuating the length. A stylish wine that embodies Heathcote Shiraz.
